Co-Clinic Director and Chief Physician of Hand Surgery

The University Clinic for Plastic and Hand Surgery at Inselspital, University Hospital Bern, is among the leading university centers in Switzerland. As a tertiary referral center, the Hand Surgery department offers the entire spectrum of modern hand surgery at the highest medical level. The close connection of highly specialized patient care, university teaching, and continuous development creates a demanding and innovative working environment. As part of a succession arrangement, we are looking for a professionally and personally convincing personality as Chief Physician of Hand Surgery. In this key position, you will assume the medical, strategic, and personnel responsibility for Hand Surgery and actively shape its future in a university environment. What awaits you <br /> • You assume the overall medical, strategic, and economic responsibility for Hand Surgery and shape its positioning and further development. • You are responsible for the medical range of services and ensure high-quality, evidence-based, and economical patient care. • You lead the department personnel-wise, organizationally, and financially and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. • You strengthen interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration and represent Hand Surgery within and outside the hospital. • You promote basic, advanced, and continuing education, secure the continuing education mandate, and are engaged in teaching and research. • You shape and promote the scientific orientation of Hand Surgery, initiate and support clinical as well as translational research projects, and strengthen the national and international visibility of the department. <br /> What you bring with you <br /> • You possess a specialist title in Hand Surgery (SIWF) as well as proven clinical and operative expertise. • You hold a professorship or meet the requirements for a professorship at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern.
