• 05 August 2026 • 50% • Indefinite duration • Glarus The Civil Registry Office based in Glarus is responsible for the certification of civil status events throughout the entire Canton of Glarus and accompanies a diverse clientele from birth to death. Due to retirement, the Civil Status and Citizenship Service department is looking for a committed and motivated personality as a Civil Registrar 50 % as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement with the place of work Glarus. Tasks • Certification of civil status and the registration of foreign nationals in the civil status register • Certification of civil status cases such as births, acknowledgments, marriages, name declarations, gender changes, deaths, as well as court and administrative decisions in the electronic civil status register • Carrying out marriage preparation procedures and marriages • Creating extracts and documents from the civil status registers • Advising customers at the counter, on the telephone, and in writing Requirements • Completed commercial training with professional experience • Federal Diploma of Higher Education as a Civil Registrar or the willingness to acquire it • Good IT and MS Office user knowledge • Ability to work in a team, resilience, flexibility, enjoyment of contact with people • Interest in legal matters and international issues • Independent, reliable, and exact way of working • Proficient German, other languages are desirable • Driver's license for marriages in external wedding venues Your contact Further information can be obtained from Marianna Weber, Head of Civil Status and Citizenship Service, Tel. 055 646 69 51 and Stella Jenny, Deputy Head, Tel. 055 646 69 52.
