Head of the Linguistic Service (SL), 80 – 100 %

Start date: • 1st December 2026 or date to be agreed Workplace: • Berne • You manage the SL of the DIJ on professional, organizational, and personnel levels and coordinate all translation and revision work. • As part of this function, you translate from German into French and revise complex texts of a political, technical, legislative, or administrative nature originating from the various offices and services of the DIJ, thus contributing significantly to the multilingual communication of the Bernese cantonal administration. Your tasks <br /> • Management of the SL composed of five employees, support and supervision of the members of the SL • Management, distribution, and implementation of linguistic mandates, allocation of human and financial resources, monitoring budget compliance, awarding mandates to external parties, negotiation of deadlines with clients, occasional terminological contributions • Knowledge management, organization of the reflection of the entire SL on linguistic and editorial conventions, observation of the evolution of the profession and technologies in the linguistic field <br /> Your profile <br /> • University degree (MA) in translation • Continuing education (following the evolution of the profession) • Several years of experience in German -- French translation • Organizational skills • Proficiency in digital translation tools • German: excellent comprehension, fluency in both oral and written expression.
