Deputy Director and Head of the Immigration and Integration Directorate

Berne (and home office) | 80-100% What you can contribute <br /> • Lead a directorate comprising approximately 300 employees in terms of personnel, organization, and tasks specific to the competence area of this unit • Ensure the strategic orientation of immigration and integration policy throughout the migratory process • Drive legislative projects in the fields of foreigners, nationality, and integration and assume business responsibility for the Federal Council and Parliament • Negotiate and implement bilateral and multilateral agreements in the field of migration, including agreements within the framework of the free movement of persons • Coordinate and develop collaboration with the cantons, other units of the federal administration as well as with national and international partners • Advise the member of the directorate on fundamental migration policy issues and represent the directorate externally <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • University degree, supplemented by solid experience in a comparable leadership position • Several years of experience in managing complex organizational units as well as in strategic steering and leading change processes • In-depth knowledge of migration and integration policy and proven experience of legislative and administrative processes • Experience in negotiation in a national and international context and excellent understanding of political processes • Unifying leadership personality with a keen sense of human relations, ability to assert oneself, and communication skills • Very good active knowledge of two official languages, good knowledge of the third official language, and very good knowledge of English <br /> In a few words You will participate decisively in Swiss migration and integration policy -- from entry into the territory to naturalization, including residence and access to the labor market. In this key role, you will assume the overall strategic responsibility for policy concerning the foreign population in Switzerland, represent Switzerland at national and international levels, and contribute to the development of a central policy area.
