Company Description
As part of a recruitment for one of our clients, an international group active in commodity trading, we are looking for a Senior Trade Accountant to strengthen its Finance department.
Job Description
Within the department, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring the accounting follow-up of operations related to trading activities.
Controlling the accounting impact of transactions and ensuring the reliability of results.
Preparing and analyzing P&L related to trading operations.
Performing reconciliations between Trading P&L and Accounting P&L and investigating any discrepancies.
Reconciling balance sheet accounts: customers, suppliers, banks and intercompany operations.
Participating in monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
Preparing financial reporting and management accounts.
Actively participating in the annual financial audit process.
Guaranteeing the accuracy and integrity of accounting data.
Ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and internal control procedures.
Collaborating closely with the Finance, Trading teams and the various functions of the organization.
Contributing to ad hoc analyses and continuous improvement projects.
Profile sought
Higher education in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
Approximately 6 to 8 years of experience in a Commodity Trading environment.
Exposure to a Trading & Shipping environment is a real advantage.
Previous experience in audit is appreciated.
Solid mastery of IFRS standards.
Very good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, closings and accounting reconciliations.
Good knowledge of accounting systems and tools related to trading activities.
Excellent mastery of Excel.
Fluent English is indispensable, both written and spoken.
French is an asset.
