Architect / Project Manager Planning (m/f/d) # 100%, Zürich, befristet #### print Drucken  The ETH Zürich is launching a pioneering research project with direct reference to construction practice, the «Living Lab HIL». The HIL building on the Hönggerberg campus will become a real laboratory. The building in need of renovation will be renovated and expanded. In the coming years, professorships from the departments of Architecture (D-ARCH) and Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG) will research and plan the renovation of the HIL building in the sense of circular construction. The goal is to further develop sustainable design and construction in existing buildings and to apply it exemplarily to a real planning and construction project. For the planning team of the Living Lab HIL, we are looking for an experienced and high-profile personality who takes over the strategic and operational management of the entire planning phase and supports the overall project management. In this central key function, you will control the complex processes with the general contractor and ensure that the project goals are successfully achieved. Job description ## In this project-related role, you will primarily take on the following tasks and responsibilities: • Project management planning: Overall responsibility for the operational management, monitoring and coordination of all planning phases of the Living Lab HIL construction project. • General contractor communication: Leading management, negotiation and structured exchange with the external general contractor and the specialist planners. • Interface management: Central coordination between ETH Real Estate, the general contractor, the team of teaching and research integration and the planning team. • Participation in management: Close cooperation with management, taking on operational management tasks and representing project interests in strategic committees. • Risk & quality management: Ensuring the overarching project goals in terms of deadlines, costs, sustainability requirements and qualities in the complex context of research and construction practice. • The position is initially limited to a maximum of five years, initially with a one-year contract with extension options. Profile ## To ideally meet the requirements of this demanding position, you bring the following profile: • Education: Completed master's degree in architecture (ETH/FH or equivalent). • Professional experience: Solid, long-term professional experience in project management and overall management of complex large-scale construction projects in Switzerland. Experience with building in existing structures is an advantage. • GP experience: Proven experience in the contractual and operational management of general contractor teams and in the demanding, interdisciplinary coordination. • Mindset: Pronounced strategic and entrepreneurial thinking, combined with a pragmatic, goal-oriented implementation competence. • Leadership: Recognizable leadership potential or already proven experience in a managing or leading function. • CAD skills: Very good, practice-proven skills in 3D-CAD, preferably Rhino and BIM systems. • Languages: Very good German skills and good English skills.
