The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic in Biel is part of Réseau de l’Arc and offers comprehensive psychiatric care for adults in the region. Our dedicated interdisciplinary team works in a modern environment with a focus on patient-centered treatment, continuing education, and collegial exchange.

Job Description

• We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic resident physician for our outpatient psychiatry team in Biel, Schweiz
• This position offers an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric care in a supportive and professional environment
• You conduct psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental disorders in the outpatient setting
• You develop and implement individual, needs-based treatment plans.
• You prescribe and manage psychopharmaceuticals, monitor effects and side effects, and adjust medication
• You conduct psychotherapy sessions using evidence-based methods
• You work interprofessionally with psychologists, nursing, social services, and general practitioners to ensure holistic care.
• You document completely and in a structured manner in the electronic medical record
• You participate in case conferences and engage in projects for quality improvement
• You continuously keep your expertise in research and treatment methods up to date
• You consistently comply with Swiss health regulations as well as ethical standards

Qualifications

• We are looking for a qualified and dedicated professional to reinforce our psychiatric team.

The ideal candidate possesses:

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Current specialist training in psychiatry
• Valid Swiss medical license (MEBEKO registration)
• Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric illnesses and treatments
• Strong ability for detailed and individual patient care
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Fluent command of the German language; knowledge of the French language is an advantage
• Experience in psychiatric care (inpatient experience is an advantage)
• Understanding of the Swiss healthcare system and relevant legislation
