Start of position: Immediately or by arrangement Work location: Burgdorf 0% Remote Work The Regional Prison Burgdorf is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for a safe, structured, and responsible execution of various types of detention. With around 160 inmates and 60 employees, we ensure orderly operations and high security standards daily. We are oriented towards the motto: "Security today and tomorrow. Your tasks <br /> • In this function, you are responsible for the care, support, and supervision of the admitted persons. Through professional, respectful, and appreciative interaction, you maintain direct contact with the inmates and thereby assume the role of a reliable contact and reference person. • You accompany the admitted persons competently throughout the entire duration of incarceration. Your actions are characterized by a reflective relationship management, in which you use the required proximity and distance in a situationally appropriate and confident manner. You act without prejudice, consistently implement legal requirements, internal instructions, and security regulations, and thereby contribute significantly to the safety of the public, the employees, and the admitted persons. • Your activity in 24/7 shift operations requires a high degree of responsibility and flexibility. With your professional actions, you contribute significantly to the orderly operation of the institution. <br /> Your profile <br /> • You have a completed vocational training EFZ. Additionally, you have several years of professional experience in correctional services, in the care and support of people, or in a comparable field of activity. • You encounter people respectfully, appreciatively, and without prejudice. Thanks to your understanding of different cultures and life situations, you also appear confident, friendly, and assertive in demanding situations. • You are a mature, resilient, and responsible personality and possess strong social and communication skills. You enjoy taking responsibility, making well-founded decisions, and working independently, reliably, and flexibly. In doing so, you understand how to maintain the balance between proximity and distance required in correctional services appropriately at all times. • You maintain an overview even in hectic situations and act calmly, structurally, and solution-oriented. Ability to work in a team as well as a good understanding of technical and organizational processes round off your profile. • You have very good German skills (level B2) as well as other foreign language skills. • You bring confident handling of common IT applications as well as a strong administrative affinity.
