Sr Legal Counsel - Banking & Trade Finance
Our client is a bank based in Geneva, operating in an international and multicultural environment.
Missions
Your responsibilities:
Advise the various departments of the Bank on all legal issues, providing pragmatic solutions in compliance with the Swiss regulatory framework.
Draft, review and negotiate legal and contractual documentation, particularly in the field of Commodity Trade Finance, Wealth Management and Financial Institutions.
Manage requests, investigations and procedures emanating from Swiss and foreign authorities, as well as civil, criminal, administrative and litigation files.
Ensure the follow-up of external legal advice and coordinate their intervention with the relevant departments.
Perform legal research and analysis, monitor developments in Swiss legislation and regulation and support their implementation within the Bank.
Support the Head of Legal & Compliance on various legal and regulatory subjects, particularly regarding Compliance, internal training and by providing backup.
Candidate Profile
Your profile:
< 15 to 20 years of professional experience in a senior legal function, ideally acquired within the Swiss banking sector.
Significant and imperative experience in Commodity / Trade Finance
Excellent knowledge of Swiss law and the banking environment, as well as regulatory and Compliance issues.
Excellent analytical, drafting and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
Strong interpersonal skills, autonomy, sense of responsibility and the ability to manage several complex files in parallel.
Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, and residence in Switzerland.
