Laboratory Technician EFZ specializing in Biology

This is the contribution you can make • Independent laboratory management of the cell culture laboratory (incl. maintenance, cleaning, material management, orders, documentation, etc.) • Independently perform microbiological and molecular biological diagnostics of highly pathogenic bacteria and viruses incl. characterization using sequencing technologies (NGS) • Perform cultural and molecular (detection) methods (e.g. inactivation, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, genotyping) of pathogens (viruses) of risk groups 1-4, collaborate in the maintenance and optimization of the reference collection, organize and participate in national and international proficiency tests • Validate molecular biological detections, review, optimize and update working instructions and validation documents, support quality management and the operation of the testing center STS 0054 • Collaborate in the organization and maintenance of the BSL2, BSL3 and BSL4 laboratory infrastructure (incl. equipment) • Collaborate on research projects (RG 1-4) and in laboratory training as well as in military refresher courses, membership in the emergency team for biological events (B-EEVBS) What makes you unique • Completed vocational training as a Biologielaborant/-in EFZ, HFP or HF degree is an advantage • Several years of professional experience in the fields of microbiology and molecular biology, experience in cultivation and working with (highly) pathogenic pathogens is an advantage • Good knowledge of sterile working as well as a strong sense of quality • Experience working at least at biosafety level 2, biosafety level 3 is an advantage • Highly committed personality, responsible, high degree of independence, very secure way of working (biosafety), organizational talent, high flexibility, teamwork skills, careful and precise way of working, integrity, perseverance and polyvalence • Passive knowledge of a second official language and good English skills What we offer • Working for Switzerland We are committed to the success model Switzerland and work for the benefit of the population. • Lived diversity Thanks to equal opportunities we develop our competencies and bring in different perspectives. • Healthy at the workplace We support and advise our employees in the area of physical and mental health.
