With your small team, you guarantee secure, modern, and reliable IT operations. MSW is a training center for the city of Winterthur for technical apprenticeships in the field of mechatronics. Thanks to the combination of the three training locations under one roof, theory and practice are perfectly coordinated. This comprehensive training allows learners to transition to the university of applied sciences, and MSW constitutes an alternative to gymnasial education. MSW trains apprentices in the professions of polymechanics, automation, and electronics. Starting from 1 January 2027, we are looking for a committed, implementation-oriented, and solution-focused person for the position of IT Manager / System Engineer. In this key role, you assume overall responsibility for the IT environment of MSW. You develop our IT strategically and operationally, lead a small team (1 employee), and work actively as an experienced system engineer in operational exploitation. Your tasks ## • IT operational exploitation: Ensuring stable operation as well as active support, maintenance, and continuous development of the entire IT infrastructure (network, firewall, physical and virtual servers, Microsoft cloud) • Support & troubleshooting: Active participation in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support as well as rapid resolution of system failures on a daily basis • Strategy & projects: Development and implementation of the IT strategy as well as management of IT projects in accordance with the global strategy of MSW • Management & coordination: Technical and personnel management of the IT employee as well as targeted management and coordination of external IT service providers and partners • Security & governance: Responsibility for IT security, data protection, cyber resilience, and continuous optimization of IT processes • Consulting & budget: Advising the school management and departments as well as responsibility for the IT budget Your profile ## • Completed training as an IT specialist CFC (system technology / platform development) with corresponding additional training (HF/FH) or an equivalent qualification with several years of professional experience • Solid experience of several years in the administration of modern IT infrastructures (Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, M365/Azure) as well as in IT project management • In-depth knowledge of network architecture (routing, switching, firewall/security) • Initial experience in management or project leadership as well as the ability to lead a small team in a partnership-based and goal-oriented manner • Willingness to participate actively in daily operational functioning in addition to conceptual tasks.
