The Groupement forestier Broye-Vully (GFBV) is a regional forest enterprise responsible for the sustainable management of more than 2’000 hectares of public forests in the regions of Broye vaudoise, Fribourg, and Vully. The GFBV relies on a team of approximately twenty committed and qualified employees to ensure multifunctional forest management, reconciling economic performance, ecological sustainability, and services for the community. With its strong regional roots, the group works in close collaboration with its members, authorities, and local partners. In the context of the retirement of its Director and in order to ensure the continuity of its activities, the GFBV is looking for its: Director and forest ranger (M/F) at 100% Your main missions As Director, you will ensure the strategic and operational leadership of the Groupement forestier Broye-Vully, as well as the management of a forest district. Your main responsibilities include notably: • Ensuring the strategic and operational direction of the group, in close collaboration with the steering committee • Coordinating the activity of the forest districts and guaranteeing efficient and coherent management of the entire group • Ensuring the management of the forest district for which you are responsible, by planning and supervising forestry work • Promoting sustainable and long-term forest management, respecting the economic, ecological, and social functions of the forest • Ensuring financial management: budget preparation and monitoring, account control, reporting to the steering committee • Developing and driving the commercial activity of the group, in connection with the wood market and forestry services • Leading and supporting staff: recruitment, skill development, performance reviews, work climate • Ensuring modern, motivating, and safe framework conditions for all employees • Maintaining quality relations with members, partners, authorities, and forest services • Promoting the image, services, and products of the Groupement forestier Broye-Vully Your profile • Higher forestry education (ES or HES in forest management) or a title deemed equivalent • Experience in the direction or management of a forest enterprise or department is an asset • Skills in team management, financial management, and project management • Good knowledge of the functioning of forestry institutions and relations with authorities • Natural leadership, promoting collaboration, communication, and a climate of trust • Ability to analyze situations, make decisions, and assume responsibility • Developed commercial sense and interpersonal ease with various interlocutors What we offer you We offer a position of responsibility within a dynamic and recognized intercantonal forest group, with varied activity combining strategy, management, fieldwork, and human relations.
