Service Dog Handler 80 - 100% # With around 1,400 employees, Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of convicted people and commit themselves effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.   The Justizvollzugsanstalt Pöschwies (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe. With around 400 prison places, it is the largest closed correctional institution in Switzerland for convicted men. It fulfills a central state task and, according to its legal mandate, contributes to the protection of the general public while simultaneously creating the prerequisites for the resocialization of the incarcerated persons.   To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed, responsible, and resilient personality, starting October 1, 2026, or by arrangement, who, together with their service dog, will make an important contribution to safety within the JVA Pöschwies. Your field of activity ### • Together with your service dog, you ensure safety and order throughout the entire area of the JVA Pöschwies, thereby making an important contribution to smooth and secure institutional operations • With prudence and professionalism, you provide support during interventions as well as during prisoner transports and contribute to a safe execution in demanding situations • You take over the control of incoming and outgoing traffic, including vehicles and drivers, and thereby ensure compliance with safety standards • In close cooperation with various areas, you support the central unit as well as other work areas within the department and the entire institution What you bring with you ### • Completed vocational training with a federal certificate of proficiency (EFZ), a (specialized) maturity, a specialized middle school certificate, or an equivalent qualification • Ideally professional experience in the fields of justice, customs, police, or army • Independent, committed, and responsible way of working as well as high psychological and physical resilience • Experience in service dog handling as well as detection dog handling, an own protection dog • Flexibility for changing working hours and readiness for shift work, including assignments on weekends, at night, and on public holidays • Very good oral and written German skills, further language skills are an advantage, as well as confident handling of the Microsoft Office suite • Minimum age of 25 years as well as an impeccable record (no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement register) What is special about this position ### • A responsible, varied, and meaningful activity awaits you in an extraordinary working environment with high social relevance • We offer diverse internal and external further training opportunities, such as training as a specialist in correctional services with a federal professional diploma • Your place of work in Regensdorf is well-connected in terms of transport and easily accessible • You benefit from attractive employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines Your application ### Actively shape your professional future and take the next step in your career with us.
