The building insurance of the canton of Schaffhausen insures as an independent company under public law the buildings located in the canton of Schaffhausen and offers comprehensive coverage for these in the event of fire and elemental damage. It provides information on insurance sums to owners and authorities, advises building owners on prevention issues, and is responsible for premium collection and management of investment assets. Furthermore, the Cantonal Fire Police is also affiliated with the Building Insurance, so that their tasks also fall within the scope of responsibility of the Building Insurance.
