Kanton Schaffhausen, Obergericht The task of the courts and other judicial authorities is to provide independent jurisdiction. The Obergericht is the highest court in the canton. It is an appellate court in civil and criminal matters as well as in administrative and social insurance law disputes. In addition, it is a supervisory authority in debt collection and bankruptcy cases and exercises supervision over all judicial authorities of the canton.
