Employee Supervision & Care 100%, temporarily fixed-term until Start of position: Immediately or by arrangement Work location: Burgdorf 0% Remote Work The Regionalgefängnis Burgdorf is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for safe, structured, and responsible execution of various types of detention. With around 160 inmates and 60 employees, we ensure orderly operations and high security standards daily. We are oriented towards the motto: "Security today and tomorrow". Your tasks In this function, you are responsible for the care, accompaniment, and supervision of the admitted persons. Through respectful interaction, you maintain direct contact with the admitted persons and take on an important role as a contact and reference person. Throughout the entire duration of incarceration, you accompany the admitted persons professionally and at all times maintain the appropriate measure of closeness and distance. In doing so, you act without prejudice and consistently. You reliably implement applicable regulations and instructions, thereby making a significant contribution to the protection of the public, the employees, and the admitted persons. With your service-oriented and responsible way of working, you contribute significantly to an orderly, safe, and professional daily life of detention in 24/7 shift operation. Your profile You have completed vocational training (EFZ) and bring several years of professional experience. You are characterized by respectful interaction with your fellow human beings and have an understanding of different cultures and social backgrounds. In contact with admitted persons, you appear without prejudice, confidently, and professionally. Thanks to your mature personality, you act appropriately even in challenging situations. Your ability to work in a team forms the basis for successful interdisciplinary cooperation. Furthermore, you accept criticism constructively, manage conflicts in a solution-oriented manner, and maintain the right measure of closeness and distance towards the inmates. You take responsibility, act independently, and maintain calm and overview even under high pressure. You bring technical understanding, IT affinity, and administrative competence. Your mother tongue is German. Additionally, you can communicate in another national language or in English. Further language skills are an advantage. A flawless criminal record extract is required.
