You will take charge of a patient population treated by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as well as hematological issues such as acute leukemias, lymphomas and other malignant and benign hemopathies.

You guarantee quality medical services, both on clinical and administrative as well as organizational levels.

You contribute to the training of trainee doctors.

In parallel to your activity, you have the possibility to benefit from high-quality postgraduate training contributing to obtaining the title of specialist in hematology.

As a reference center for French-speaking Switzerland for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as well as the coordination of two institutional boards for the management of patients suffering from hemopathies in the canton of Geneva, we offer you the opportunity to take charge of the entire spectrum of clinical hematology pathologies (malignant and benign).

You are integrated within a dynamic team composed of 15 senior doctors and 7 internal physicians.

You hold a medical degree or possess training deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales (MEBEKO).

For non-French speaking persons, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required.

You have good knowledge of internal medicine.

You demonstrate excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients. You are an autonomous, flexible and committed person.

You have a curious, involved personality and enjoy teamwork.

The Département d’oncologie (https://www.hug.ch/oncologie) manages, on diagnostic and therapeutic levels, adult patients suffering from cancerous diseases and provides support for patients and their relatives. The objective is to ensure access to the best anticancer treatment, to propose adapted care and to anticipate the needs of hospitalized patients (bone marrow transplant, cell therapy, immunotherapy, etc.). Concurrently, the Centre des cancers allows for the coordination of cross-functional activities dedicated to the issue of cancers between services and departments.

It brings together 4 services (hematology, oncology, precision oncology and radio-oncology) and is composed of approximately 300 employees.

The Service d'hématologie (http://www.hug.ch/radio-oncologie) manages, on a diagnostic and therapeutic level, patients suffering from benign or malignant blood diseases, hospitalized or outpatient.

The service is involved in different clinical and translational research activities, in cooperation with the Université de Genève and also involved in different cooperating groups: SAKK, EBMT, GRAALL, SFGM-TC, HOVON, CML german study group, CLL german study group, etc…

Several rotations are carried out during the semester, under the direct supervision of a chief physician and assistant. Rotations include hospitalization (intensive treatment, Allogreffe CSH, CAR-T & bispecifics) as well as outpatient follow-up of allograft patients (consultations and HDJ). Rotations also include the lymphoma and myeloma unit as well as the myeloid pathologies and blood diseases unit, in polyclinic and hospitalization.

The program also provides for participation in integrative diagnosis in hematology, including cytology, flow cytometry and the possibility to contribute to the intra-hospital consultation activity. Depending on availability, rotations may include immunohematology, transfusion medicine and apheresis, as well as hemostasis.
